Movement became my way to understand life.
I am Harshit Dixit, a movement artist, dancer, filmmaker and teacher. Born in Uttar Pradesh and raised in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, I have been based in the Paris region since 2019.
For more than ten years, I have explored freestyle hip-hop, popping foundations, Indian movement and experimental performance. My practice is also shaped by cinema, theatre, meditation, the Bhagavad Gita and Buddhism.
I am interested in what the body carries: ancestral memory, migration, playfulness, desire, contradiction and the search for inner clarity.
02 — Artist statementWhy I create
I do not see spirituality as an escape from the world. I see it as a way to enter movement, ambition and human connection with more attention.
“I am interested in the moment when movement stops being a style and becomes a way to remember who we are.”
03 — Earlier practiceA practice shaped across contexts
Selected archive images trace teaching, freestyle culture and embodied research. They belong to an earlier chapter of the same evolving artistic language.
