Between India and Paris

Migration does not leave one identity behind and replace it with another. It teaches the body to hold several truths at once.

Harshit in Paris
Paris · a place of work, friction and becoming

I was born in Uttar Pradesh, raised in Rajasthan and have lived in the Paris region since 2019. Distance changes the way memory moves. Things that once felt ordinary become symbols; things I imagined about Europe become daily realities.

A vocabulary made of crossings

My artistic language does not come from putting “India” on top of “hip-hop.” It comes from living inside crossings: the rhythms I grew up with, freestyle communities, French cultural spaces, spiritual questions, theatre, jobs, friendships and the practical life of migration.

I do not want to resolve these worlds into one neat identity. I want the work to remain porous enough for contradiction. Perhaps belonging is not a final place. Perhaps it is the quality of attention we bring to wherever we are standing.
